Well, hello pseudo So-Cal fall! As I've been (complaining) talking about lately, my hopes of a nice fall have been completely teased and then dashed lately. However, I haven't let that stop me from making some fall inspired dishes, but I have also wanted to share with new viewers of this site some of my favorites from last year. PLUS, I am having a giveaway and regular readers know how rare that is here, so stay tuned.
So as you all know, one of my favorite fall/early winter favorites is pomegranate. I have been lucky enough to be gifted with some more Pom Wonderful juice this year so look for some exciting recipes. In the meantime, let me take you back to some "old school" pom recipes.
Pom ice cream was the first ice cream I ever made and the first one without a machine. It was so worth the effort
Pom Pizza was kind of strange sounding, but totally addictive and a classic.
Of course, who can forget the pumpkin recipes at this time of year. I have had quite a few...Pumpkin cinnamon rolls are so incredibly decadent and swoon worthy, I almost got a proposal!
Pumpkin shortcakes with Apple Compote and Honey Vanilla Ice Cream are a perfect way to use up the canned pumpkin you may have laying around plus all of the apples of the season.
Butternut squash is one of my favorite things about the fall and winter, but I tried not to overload you with it last year (like I did with poms). One of my favorite and most simple ways to enjoy it was in a simple soup.
Another fun way to enjoy butternut was in this super easy galette.
I have an apple dessert coming soon, but in the meantime, how adorable is this mini apple crumb cake? Check out those huge crumbs too!!
Persimmon crisps were just so cute and a unique way to enjoy this fall fruit.
Ok, now on to the giveaway. Remember those amazing agave sweetened brownies I made recently? Well, Xagave is giving one of my readers the chance to win a bottle of agave nectar and the same amazing cookbook I have had the chance to peruse. All you need to do to win is leave a comment on this post telling me your favorite fall recipe. If you would like an extra chance to be entered, you can tweet about it and leave another comment with a link to your tweet. By the way, you can follow me on Twitter, by clicking here. One week from today, I will pick a random number to win this awesome prize. Good luck!! Great looking fall dishes here! My #1 favorite fall dish would have to be pumpkin pie.
I love this post. I want to make everything! I might start with the soup or shortcakes. YUM! My favorite fall recipe is probably apple crisp or roasted sweet potatoes/butternut squash.
OMG! that galette is just calling my name. I would eat that whole thing and I don't care what anyone would say. I don't remember that one from last year, but then again I'm an old fart.
And btw, that photo of the pom ice is KILLER clear.
I love making cranberry apple pies in the fall.
:)
Oh that ice-cream looks just too delicious.. :)) I guess I just have to try to make it. :)
My favorite fall recipe is pumpkin chocolate chip cookies. So yummy!
Love all your beautiful fall recipes. Like Evan, my fav is pumpkin chocolate chip cookies followed closely by pumpkin bread!
Whoa - those all look awesome! I think my fall favourite is still my mom's apple squares made right after an orchard pick-a-thon. Incredible, super fresh and soooo buttery yum!
Everything looks gorgeous! My favorite fall recipe...that would have to be apple crisp.
Fall is my favorite season!! I love making chocolate pumpkin bread.
Co-workers think I'm strange. I'm making noises looking at this post. Love it. And let's meet up in November so I can give you some of my dad's persimmon (fuyu variety)! - mary
Some lovely fall dishes Esi! I think I might borrow some of your pumpkin recipes!!
Pumpkin pie is my favorite fall treat, but I'm dying to try the pumpkin cinnamon rolls. They would probably be a close second, I'm betting!

I've got to try making me some ice cream on of these days.
My fave fall recipe is my sweet potato biscuits and creamy pumpkin soup. Sooooo good!!
Your persimmon crisps look amazing! I think my fav' fall recipe is a pear/blueberry crumble. With cardamom instead of cinammon. :)
Soup, soup, soup! Usually something with legumes and pork. Gah, now I'm hungry.
The pomegranate pizza looks amazing! My favorite fall dish is beef stew.
Your apple cake is the bomb. Just know that. We love pies...apple, sweet potato, pumpkin, etc. Totally a favorite.

Yum, all these recipes look great!
My fall favorite has to be my mom's Thanksgiving stuffing, made with turkey liver, Italian sausage, celery, onions, mushrooms and big hunks of stale bread. MMMMMM
( I will post the recipe soon!)
I love Pumpkin Bread. Yum!
It is extremely difficult to decide on ONE favorite but right now anything with pumpkin is making me feel like fall; however, I did make some yummy butternut squash soup the other day and those baked apples were pretty tasty....
Oh, this is hard, there are SO many wonderful fall dishes. I think I have to go with pumpkin pie though - I love it, especially for breakfast :)
My favorite Fall treat is definitely Pumpkin Poundcake with a cream cheese glaze sprinkled with toasted pistachios! But your pumpkin rolls and persimons crisps might change things for me =)
My favorite fall food is butternut squash - in soups, with eggs or just baked and served with butter. It's golden orange color matches the fall leaves...perfect. I'd love to try it with agave since it's something new to me. And I love your photo's - they make me want to eat EVERYTHING!
I love the pumpkin cinnamon rolls, will try to make this in the coming months, thanks for the recipe :)
My favorite fall recipe is ginger pumpkin soup... mmmmmmmm...
Honestly, my current favorite fall dish is the apple upside down cake. I've made this more than a handful of times over the past week. I'm almost ashamed to admit that. Haha.
P.S. I'm agave queen...I LOVE that stuff. Ugh...have you tried it with fresh margarita? Insanely good.
Hmm... Favorite fall dish? Probably my butternut squash soup. Or maybe it's my holiday honey cake (or the agave version I made for the diabetics in the family - so good!). Or the apple mincemeat pie I haven't made yet this season. Nope, can't choose just one! :-)
These are all so amazing sounding. I love anything and everything pumpkin, no question!
I love anything with squash in it- spaghetti squash, butternut, but my favorite is Acorn Squash. Just roast the halves for 40 minutes and then throw some butter, brown sugar/honey/maple syrup and black pepper in to melt together into the tastiest rainy day dish.
Well your pumkin cinnamon rolls look like they'll soon become my favorite!!
Thanks for the giveaway
Yes, please on several of the above starting with that yummy apple crumb cake. You're killin' me with it. And nice to know I'm in good company with being annoyed by the tease of Fall. We finally have serious clouds today. Nice!
My favorite fall dish is apple crisp, so I'm looking forward to trying your apple cranberry crisp!
Oh my gosh I love this post, even if I"m reading it a month later. I love pomegranates too. I've made pom baked beans, sorbet, and salads and no post.
